Swiss National Day 2022

04/Aug/2022 - Happy Hour, Jantar

On August 01st, we celebrated Swiss National Day at the Residence of the Swiss Consul General in São Paulo, Pierre Hagmann. The event, organized by the Consulate in partnership with SWISSCAM, had a presentation by Banda dos Curumins, in addition to delicious typical Swiss foods and speeches by Brazilian authorities.

The Consul General gave thankts to the guests for their presence and highlighted the cultural agenda for the coming months, mentioning the Swiss Festival of Clube Helvetia on the 20th, as well as the opening of the Le Corbusier traveling exhibition, at Museu da Casa Brasileira and the Taste of Switzerland at Tivoli Mofarrej Hotel, on the 11th and 13th of August.

SWISSCAM President, Flavio Silva, also gave a speech at the event and spoke about the potential for growth in the trade relationship between the two countries, despite the global challenges of recent years, in addition to thanking SWISSCAM’s members and the Consul General for their kind reception.

The historical date refers to the pact of 1291, the founding act of the Helvetia Confederation. All over Switzerland, bonfires are lit and fireworks are burned. In many places, children parade through the streets with lanterns bearing the Swiss Cross and the coat of arms of their canton. And across the country, politicians, from the Federal Council to the commune president, deliver their national holiday speeches.

We are grateful for the support of the associates for the gifts to the guests: Curaprox and Lindt and to Nespresso for the coffee tasting at the event.
