SWISSCAM neutralizes carbon emissions from 2024 and reinforces its commitment to sustainability

17/Dec/2025 - Environment, SWISSCAM -

SWISSCAM reaffirms its commitment to the climate agenda by completing the offsetting of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the year 2024. The initiative, which is already part of the institution’s management strategy, demonstrates the Chamber’s responsibility in the face of global environmental challenges.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Instituto Ekos Brasil, a SWISSCAM associate and a reference in the sector. The partnership covered everything from the initial stage of preparing the detailed report for calculating the emissions inventory to the technical curation for choosing the compensation project.

Through the Compromisso com o Clima (Commitment to Climate) platform, SWISSCAM was able to select an initiative that combined technical rigor with a real and measurable socio-environmental impact.

Support for the brCarbon Project: Preservation in the Brazilian Amazon

The project chosen for the acquisition of carbon credits was brCarbon (Brazilian Amazon). This initiative focuses on the conservation of forest areas in the Amazon, using the REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) mechanism.

By supporting this project, SWISSCAM contributes directly to:

Combating deforestation: Protection of native forests under pressure from degradation.
Protecting biodiversity: Maintaining the habitat of countless species of Amazonian fauna and flora.
Local development: Promoting practices that value the standing forest and benefit communities in the region.

To ensure maximum transparency and compliance, the offset is Verra (Verified Carbon Standard) certified. This is the most rigorous and recognized seal in the global voluntary carbon market, ensuring that the credits purchased by SWISSCAM are real, verifiable, and traceable.

A Collective Journey

By neutralizing its carbon footprint, SWISSCAM not only fulfills its institutional role, but also seeks to inspire its network of members and partners. We believe that commitment to sustainability is a collective duty and that transparency in environmental actions is the foundation for a more conscious and resilient economic future.
