Pre-Announcement of Innosuisse – EMBRAPII call for proposals 2020
The Brazilian Agency for Research and Industrial Innovation (EMBRAPII) and the Swiss Innovation Agency (Innosuisse) have commonly decided to publish a call for proposals of joint innovation projects between partners from Brazil and Switzerland in 2020.
Scope
The call for joint innovation projects addresses consortia consisting of innovative companies and research institutions from Switzerland and Brazil aiming at engaging in science-based innovation cooperation projects.
Consortia should present cooperative R&D projects from experimental proof of concept to technology demonstrated in relevant environment, leading to products or technical processes, which are considerably differentiated from existing products or technical processes in the market in terms of their functions or other features and provide an added economic, societal or environmental value.
Furthermore, cooperation between Brazilian and Swiss companies and research organisations shall result in an added value, which could not be achieved in one of the countries alone. It should also lead to exchange of knowledge and expertise, establishment of lasting partnerships, and increase market expansion opportunities.
The skills and expertise of the Swiss and Brazilian partners should be complementary and the project results should create added-value for the partners in both countries.
The Call is open for all topics. However, projects in following topics are particularly appreciated:
– Biotech and medtech
– Agriculture and food production
– Industry 4.0
– Advanced materials
– Information and communication technologies
– Clean energy & water
– Sustainable cities and communities
– Innovation and creativity (social, technical, cultural) und digitalization
Conditions for participation
This is an international, bilateral funding measure subject to the funding rules of EMBRAPII and Innosuisse. Details will follow in the full call documentation. The call will open on February 10, 2020.

Call procedure
The call is organised in a two-stage procedure:
1. Call launch: February 10, 2020
2. Pre-proposal submission deadline: April 20, 2020
3. Communication of recommendations: end of May 2020
4. Full-Proposal Submission deadline: August 17, 2020
5. Communication of evaluation results: end of October 2020.
