Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin’s official visit to Brazil

Between the 4th and 8th of July 2023, the Swiss Minister of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, led an economic, scientific and innovation mission, accompanied by an extensive business and innovation delegation, with meetings in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.

Within this schedule, SWISSCAM Vice President Ana Moeri and SWISSCAM Executive Director Mariana Badra were present at the official residence of the Consul General of Switzerland in São Paulo on the morning of July 4th for the event that brought the perspective of companies Swiss companies in Brazil, with testimonials from companies such as Novartis, in addition to an overview of the Swiss economy presented by UBS.

In the afternoon, during the opening of the “Infrastructure and Race Forum for Net-Zero in São Paulo” at Palácio dos Bandeirantes (São Paulo state government), SWISSCAM, represented by its vice-president Ana Moeri, signed the São Paulo Environmental Agreement, which aims to encourage companies from São Paulo, associations and municipalities to assume voluntary commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The day’s program ended with a cocktail at FIESP, which brought together representatives of the Swiss community, including the Swiss companies associated in the Gold and Silver category of SWISSCAM.
