The award-winning Brazilian film “Ainda Estou Aqui”, starring Fernanda Torres and an amazing cast, is coming to Swiss cinemas. Read the synopsis and watch the trailer of this touching story below.

Brazil, 1971: Former left-wing congressman Rubens Pavia and his family live the vibrant lifestyle of the 1970s in Rio de Janeiro. The clutches of the military dictatorship are part of everyday life. One day, Rubens is abducted by henchmen – and disappears. His family does not know where he is – or whether he is still alive. Eunice (Fernanda Torres), his wife, tries to track him down and find out what happened to her beloved husband.

Director Walter Salles tells the true story of the Paiva family, where he spent time as a child, in a touching way and with wonderful images. His deeply humanistic film is a declaration of love for democratic Brazil that pays tribute to those who fought against injustice.
