The Associação Artística Cultural Oswaldo Goeldi is an organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of two great names in culture and science: Emílio Goeldi, renowned naturalist and zoobotanist, and Oswaldo Goeldi, illustrator, artist and woodcut artist.
Our mission is to integrate art and science, promoting environmental awareness and the appreciation of Brazilian culture. The Association has the support of various institutions, such as the Swiss Embassy and several museums around Brazil. We are looking for new partnerships that can generate media impact and promote our projects, especially with a focus on the next COP 30, which will take place in 2025 in Belém/PA.
The Associação Artística Cultural Oswaldo Goeldi is grateful for the opportunity to present our mission and projects. We hope that together we can foster a fruitful cultural exchange between Brazil and Switzerland.
We are happy to arrange a meeting and discuss how we can work together
Our Goals
- Preservation: To protect and promote the works of Emílio and Oswaldo Goeldi, ensuring that their contributions are recognised and appreciated by future generations.
- Education: To promote artistic and scientific education through exhibitions, workshops and partnerships with educational institutions.
- Sustainability: To develop projects that integrate art with ecological awareness, encouraging the preservation of the environment.
Current Projects
- Exhibition: The Brazilian-Swiss Legacy in the Amazon – Art, Science and Sustainability: An initiative that aims to collaborate with institutions that share our vision of a sustainable future, where art and science complement each other. A travelling exhibition in partnership with the Swiss Embassy and the Emílio Goeldi Museum, highlighting Brazilian fauna and flora using Augmented Reality, including a virtual exhibition.
- Collection: With 70 works including birds catalogued at the end of the 19th century and woodcuts by Oswaldo Goeldi, our collection is a testimony to Brazil’s rich biodiversity and the artistic skill of its creators.
